If you’ve got children you’ve made a huge decision that impacts them on a daily, even hourly basis. That’s because picking out a child’s name is a choice that reverberates over their entire life.
Over the past couple decades, parents have gone out of their way to come up ever more outlandish girls names for their daughters. These misguided folks think that adding a few vowels to a common name makes them stand out. A girl with a common name that’s been re-engineered for extra attention is going to get attention, but chances are it won’t be positive.
There are plenty of unique girl names that don’t sound strange, and will age well. Parents are encouraged to stick with names that are easy to spell and easy to remember. When picking out your child’s name, try to put aside your own feelings and think about how a potential employer might view that name. There are plenty of boys names that come with more baggage than you really want a kid to have to deal with, so please choose wisely and your child will thank you.
