Thankful 9
Happy Turkey Day everybody! Hope you’re all getting stuffed and having a good time with your crazy families.
I’m home with The Annoyance, Crackhead, the nurse, and the nurse’s daughter (neither of which speak ANY English whatsoever.) This should be rather interesting.
This year, I’m thankful for a few things:
My Best Friend: I don’t know how I got so lucky, but I met the most amazing woman on the face of the planet and I am fortunate enough to be able to call her my best friend. She is my soulmate.
Cousin E and The Monster: Cousin E and I have become extremely close over the past few months and I am extremely grateful to have her back in my life. She’s the one person who’s been through absolutely everything with me and has never left my side. I can be myself around her, and I can be completely honest without having to worry about being judged. And now that we have The Monster, we’re just one big happy family. The Monster makes me want to be a better person – I want to be the best role-model I can be for her. I love being her second mommy.
(note: Cousin E is my cousin, not my girlfriend.)
Romeo: My kitten is my source of sanity as of late. When I’m upset, he comes and cuddles with me. It may just be coincidence, but when I talk to him, he talks back. He shows me nothing but unconditional love and he’s just the most adorable little guy on the planet.
The Annoyance and Crackhead I know I bitch about them a lot and they’re not really the best people on the face of the planet, but without them I wouldn’t have a roof over my head or food in my stomach or my adorable kitten.
Friends: Over the past few months, I’ve lost virtually all of my friends, but I’ve been lucky enough to make a few new ones and they’re all I’ll ever need. I’m glad that I finally know who my real friends are.
Being in the hospital: Being locked up in the psych ward was the scariest and most horrible time in my life, but I am thankful that it happened. I was able to get away from all the bullshit in my life and really think about what matters. I learned new ways to cope with my anxiety and depression than just cutting and hitting myself. Getting out of there also gave me a taste of what real happiness feels like.
Mary Jane: Yea, I said it. Smoking the sweet leaf gives me a sense of calm and relaxation, which is a welcomed change from the cuntacular craziness that is me every day. It gives me relief from the pain in my back and the constant migraines that I have to deal with. And best of all, it helps me to feel comfortable in my own skin. It’s a miracle plant, and I can’t wait for the rest of the country to realize that and make it a legal medication.
The Intarwebs: Okay, so I’m a big nerd. It’s true though! The Internet gives me the opportunity to voice my opinions and speak up about things that really matter to me (read: Marijuana Law Reform, mostly). It’s allowed me to meet some pretty fucking amazing people (Bobbo, Gay David, Jessica). It’s kind of embarrassing to admit, but I am honestly quite lost without a computer in front of me.
What are you guys thankful for?

I am thankful:
-The Monster
-the people I call family (and most of them aren’t related to me!)
-my 3 best friends bc they are awesome and are totally the shit!
-the WORLD’S COOLEST BABYSITTER! (you know I had to put that here!
-to still be living and breathing and at least somewhat sane after all I have been through in my life!
I’m only cool cause I have ice cream. XD
Thanks for commenting my recent post! I think your blog is the 1st I have came to who actually has “something to be thankful for” for the Thanksgiving holidays. Hell, i didn’t even say what I WAS THANKFUL for. now I feel like a total lame
But it just reminds me that some of the simple things in life make all the difference; who knew a kitten could bring some one such comfort. if thats the case i needa go get me a pet…ASAP lol.
That’s a great list of things to be thankful for!
Great list. I wish had as many things to be thankful about
I’m sure it’s not a coincidence your cat’s talking back to you. My cats does that too!
I’m not american so I don’t celebrate thanksgiving but I’m thankful anyway. I’m thankful for my family, my friends, my cats and the very fact that I’m alive. I’m thankful I have a life. That I exist.
I am thankful for all that my parents have learned me and given me through the years, without them i wouldn’t be much..
I really like your list of things to be thankful for. I did the same thing on my blog. Happy Holidays.
come to think of it, we all have a number of things to be thankful for in our lives – thanks for reminding us!
