Super High Me
Remember the movie Super Size Me with Morgan Spurlock? Well, me neither. No matter - there’s a new movie out that will likely take it’s place. It’s called Super High Me, and it stars comedian Doug Benson.
According to the website:
Super High Me [...] explores the current situation with medical marijuana in California and the United States, specifically focusing on the conflict between federal and state law and the explosive growth in medical marijuana dispensaries in Los Angeles over the past two years.
As part of his journey, Doug smokes, eats and vaporizes medical marijuana for thirty consecutive days in order to get “Super High.” But there is a catch–first Doug must go thirty days without any marijuana and undertakes a number of tests, completing the same tests while medicated and while sober, in an effort to find out what marijuana does and how it really affects people.
The movie was released on April 11th, but is only out in select theaters on the West Coast. The DVD won’t come out until June, but if you’ve got some free space, you’re in luck! There will be free screenings of the film held all over the country (most on April 20th) - You can even host your own!
Unfortunately the closest screening to me is about an hour away and I definitely don’t have any free space to hold my own, so I’ll have to wait until June to see it. If you’re lucky enough to live close to a screening, I can’t urge you enough to check it out. I’m really psyched about it.

Hey, Super Size Me was a good movie, okay!? Anyway, I really want to see this movie, I’m interested.
So basically the movie is chronicling 30 days of a stoner? If I wanted to see that, I’d just hang out here in my town!
OMG Im so jelly. I liked supersize me and I think it’d be interesting to see this movie.
Haha. I’m definitely interested in that!
The movie definitely seems to be interesting and I can not wait to see what happens.
On another note… I thinks its pretty ignorant for Kecia to make the comment she did, when the movie is nothing like what she is talking about. Medical Marijuana helps thousands of terminally ill patients not be in pain. Maybe she should have read what was in the post a little better.
Hmm that movie definetely sounds interesting.
This movie sounds like instant gold - there’s a screening here in Buffalo, so maybe I will get Justin to go with me! Hopefully it will be more memorable than the film it takes it’s name from.
I actually saw Supersize me, it was quite interesting, but it made me want to eat hamburgers afterwards, which is quite opposite of what it was supposed to. I’m not sure if I’m so impressed by the idea of this new film, is it even legal, considering that Doug smokes an illegal substance? I don’t doubt that some drugs that are now illegal might be used for medical purposes some day, but I think that this issue should be left to researchers which investigate things under controlled conditions, and not be used as a movie stunt.
Lol, that sounds like it’s going to be a good documentary. I might actually rent it to watch it. I haven’t had fun with mary jane in years, and it’s not a resource that I would like to go to, but the controversy is so great that I have to watch it to be educated.
I hope you’re going to be able to catch a screening of it!
I saw super size me it was good, it put me off fast food for life though. I might go and see the film it looks like it could be good.
